The New Balance 997 Goes Off-Kilter

Suede and the go hand-in-hand. When the retro runner is not in a heritage colour like grey or navy, it’s sure to grab attention. Seen here is murky purple suede, joined by black mid panels and two-toned midsoles.

It’s a rather unsettling package, unconventionally piecing colours together in a way that wouldn’t usually work. But, in New Balance’s case, it works quite well. Like all Made in USA NB releases, the materials and construction are top notch.
