The New Balance M995gr Is Back
’s 99X series was devised in the early-80s as a bold platform to introduce unparalleled innovation to the world of running shoes. Testing consumer demand with an overload of tech credentials – and suitably sky-high price points – NB engaged a surprisingly low key grey-on-grey colour palette to unify the 99X range.
Spawned with the , the series has racked up many iterations – not to mention digits - in its 34 years of existence. For the series' second entry, NB made the curious decision to skip right on ahead to the M995. A subtle refinement of its predecessor, the M995 made its debut in 1986, sporting a SuperFlex sole and the same signature plush grey suede that has since become synonymous with the series.
After an extended absence from the sneaker scene, the model is now finally returning to store shelves. For its grand comeback, the sophisticated runner has been retroed in one-to-one form, crafted in the USA to the very same high standards first set by the '86 original. From the grey mesh, to the grey suede, to the grey 'N' logo – this is a release for the true NB purists.
