The Nike ACG Air Skarn is Made From Other Shoes
When 1997’s re-appeared earlier this year, it was an unexpected but welcome retro. Now, are continuing their punt on this model by releasing additional colourways, such as this purple rendition.
Reminiscent of 90s outdoors palettes, the mesh and microfibre upper is predominately berry purple, contrasted by a mossy olive mudguard and tongue accents. An off-white midsole tempers itself for off-road grime, connected to fairly low-profile lugged tread.
Most interestingly, the Nike Regrind callout on the insole recalls the Swoosh’s gallant efforts to minimise production and post-use waste by literally grinding down old shoes to make some of the compounds on new sneakers.
This new Air Skarn should be available from Nike retailers in the near future.
