The Nike Air Force 1 Gets Another ‘Drew League’ Release
The looks set to receive another ‘Drew League’ release, this time rocking some subtle summer vibes. A Los Angeles–based basketball event founded in 1973, the Drew League fosters community engagement through basketball, and this is certainly not the first time Beaverton has paid homage.
, Team Swoosh commemorated the meaningful sporting enterprise with an uncomplicated take on the AF-1, essentially a ‘Triple White’ rendition with Drew League callouts on the tongues and heels. This time, a summery aesthetic hits the side Swooshes and heel tabs, a matching ‘D’ logo hits the tongues, and the ‘Drew League’ script from last year’s version again runs along the lateral heel.
Landing with a hardwood debut in 1982, the Air Force 1 was the first Nike basketball shoe to feature ‘Air’ cushioning. From those on-court origins, the AF-1 slowly morphed into the lifestyle category, and remains a key member of 2021’s sneaker zeitgeist thanks to its truly timeless aesthetic.
Whispers suggest the latest Nike Air Force 1 ‘Drew League’ will release on July 30, but we’ll let you know if an official date is announced.
