The Nike Air Force 1 Joins the ‘Happy Pineapple’ Brigade
Cork has been a constant feature on Nike silhouettes so far in 2021, as the Beaverton brand continues to make ground on its bold mission – a journey to zero carbon and zero waste. Part of that push has included a slew of with cork adornments, in addition to the recently unveiled . However, those eco-friendly releases didn’t feature the friendly fruit motif of the ‘Happy Pineapple’, which has been smiling out from a bunch of Swoosh silhouettes this year – including the , , and .
Debuting on the hardwood in 1982 as the first Nike basketball shoe to feature ‘Air’ cushioning, the Air Force 1 sure has seen its fair share of diverse looks over the years, and this belongs with some of the most interesting.
Pairs of the ‘Happy Pineapple’ Air Force 1 are expected to ripen at Nike and selected Swoosh stockists soon.
