The Nike Air Huarache Sails in with Red Accents
The is continuing its strong push into the current sneaker zeitgeist, this time emerging in a neat black, red, white and ‘Sail’ colourway. The plain template of the other three colours really allows the red to shine, and also provides a retro aesthetic to match a sneaker design that’s turning 30 this year.
Celebrating its important anniversary in style, the Huarache has been emerging in a whole bunch of coveted colourways so far in 2021. Prominent highlights among those offerings include the , , loud , and legendary . And there was also a scheme that hit news feeds back in April.
The Air Huarache was inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s ‘less is more’ design language, the well-known Nike designer coming up with the innovative concept while slipping his feet in and out of the neoprene booties found in water skiing boots. That techno-minimalism is on full display on the Huarache, with nylon toe boxes, rubber heel cages, and leather overlays. Down below, cushy EVA foam midsoles with Air technology provide a super smooth ride.
Pairs of this red-accented Air Huarache are expected to hit Nike and selected Swoosh stockists very soon.
