The Nike Air Max 95 Rocks a Neat Material Mix
The has enjoyed an enduring presence on the sneaker scene, as beloved now as it was on debut 26 years ago. One of the key reasons for that longevity has been the signature wavy upper, providing the perfect platform for a variety of colour combos over the years. And it’s also a great starting point for material mixtures, as seen on this latest offering that neatly combines leather, mesh and suede. The colour scheme of white, grey, and two shades of blue further highlights the mixed build to deliver a super tidy AM95.
As for that layered upper, says it all started on a rainy Beaverton day when Nike designer Sergio Lozano was staring out of his office window in search of inspiration. As the rain fell, Sergio started to imagine the eroding landscape unearthing the strata below the surface. The concept of previously hidden layers resonated once more when Lozano later considered the anatomy of a foot which, of course, features similarly layered muscle fibres and flesh under the skin. The rest, as they say, is history.
Pairs of this Air Max 95 are expected to land soon at Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
