First Look: 2022 Nike Air Max Penny 1 'Orlando'

Update November 25: Images have been flying around the internet showing off the 2022 version of the Air Max Penny 1 'Orlando'. Still no official word from Nike on these, but we'll keep you updated.
A classic of 1990s basketball vault looks set to return next year, the iconic ‘Orlando’ inexplicably on hiatus for nearly a decade.
While the silhouette has appeared in numerous colourways since the 2011 ‘Orlando’ retro, the most famous iteration of the Air Max Penny 1 is still the one that hit the hardwood way back in 1995.
Of course gracing the heels of prolific scorer Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway, the Air Penny 1 was the first silhouette to utilise Nike’s Foamposite material. Also the first player since Jordan to have a signature line extended beyond his basketball career, Penny’s sneakers are still cold hard cash in the contemporary sneaker zeitgeist.
Manufactured with the indelible phylon ‘wing’ midsole and blue jewelled Swoosh, the ‘Orlando’ colourway still features all the design DNA of the original, including the 1 Cent logo on the heel. Composed in black, ‘Varsity Royal’, and white, the colourway looks largely identical to the original release.
While we don’t have any official confirmations as yet, expect the Nike Air Penny 1 ‘Orlando’ to land at retailers next year.
