The Nike Air Max Plus Maintains Its Growl in Grey
You get the feeling that the really enjoys its notoriety as silhouettes on the street, and colourways like this latest one do very little to water down that rampant reputation. The simple combo of grey, black and red delivers the goods, allowing the signature overlays to mesmerise the eyes. While the blood red additions to the branding and the visible Air unit punch through in all the right places. 3M reflective panels on the heels also ensure this model will still make a statement when the sun goes down.
First released in 1998, the Air Max Plus was the brainchild of industry veteran Sean McDowell, and took design cues from Florida’s swaying palm trees and gorgeous evening skies. The distinctive OG colourway’s dusk-inspired blue fade and moulded palm trunk–like overlays left an impression on the sneakersphere that still resonates today.
Pairs of this grey, black and red Tn are expected to hit Nike and selected Swoosh stockists very soon, so sleep with one eye open.
