The Nike Air Max Plus Takes a Regal Turn
The has taken a regal turn, emerging with official images of a brooding black and ‘Royal Blue’ colourway. That two-tone combo works perfectly here, allowing the TN’s instantly recognisable rib overlays to get the full attention they deserve. Those two lead colours of black and blue receive further contrast thanks to the white on the midsole, laces, and side Swooshes. While the usual Tuned Air branding and reflective details complete the aggressive vibe.
The notorious Air Max Plus first appeared on the streets in 1998, and was the ground-breaking creation of industry veteran Sean McDowell. The hypnotic upper takes design cues from Florida’s swaying palm trees and vibrant evening skies. The distinctive OG colourway’s and moulded palm trunk–like overlays helped to attract a dedication amongst sneakerheads that’s in 2021. As Nike themselves once said, ‘Some athletic shoes transcend their performance roots and become a cultural phenomenon’.
Pairs of this black and blue Air Max Plus are expected to hit Nike and select Swoosh stockists soon.
