The Nike Air Max Plus Treads Lightly
A bad boy of vast Air Max catalogue, the continues to besot sneakerheads the world over. Recently revitalised by a variety of classic in-house gradient fades and the high-profile collaboration with last year, the Air Max Plus is now being rebuilt using Nike’s new eco-conscious manufacturing technique.
Built with at least 20 per cent recycled material by weight, this Air Max Plus features a paint-splattered, almost digitised aesthetic, brushed across the mesh underlays. Blasts of neon green hit the Swooshes, soles and tongues, while nuclear branding is extended on the insoles. The classic rib-cage-like structure provides durability to the silhouette, while recycled materials also occupy the lace cage.
Look for this Nike Air Max Plus to release in the coming weeks. The retail price is locked at $170.
Originally designed by Sean McDowell, the Air Max Plus took cues from the Florida sunset lined with palm trees. As Nike themselves put it, ‘Some athletic shoes transcend their performance roots and become a cultural phenomenon’. Perhaps no shoe exhibits this point better than the Air Max Plus.
