The Nike SB PS8 Looks Icy in 'Cool Grey/Metallic Silver'
After debuting for the Paris Olympics in the iconic colourway, the is now dressed in a lowkey grey iteration that is ready to be thrashed.
The name PS8 is shorthand for Problem Solver 8, as it has been designed to alleviate eight common issues commonly found in skate shoes and Nike SB products. On top of that, it also pays tribute to SB icon , who is responsible for the Swoosh’s now indomitable presence in the sport – his Instagram handle was appropriately ‘@problemsolver8’.
Constructed with layered Flyknit and leather, the skate model has that broken-in feel straight out of the box. Air Zoom, a Flyplate, and a HART (High Abrasion Rubber Tech) outsole work together to create a light, responsive, and flexible ride that is packaged neatly into Nike’s heritage running aesthetic. The new colourway shows off these different features and textures, with a dark grey covering the Flyknit base and a medium shade hitting the tumbled suede overlays. Hits of a cool blue give it an icy undertone, coming through on the translucent outsole and laces. Ramping this up a notch is the metallic silver sprinkled throughout, with the real star being the metallic silver Swoosh. Other hits feature on the branding and a tab on the tongue.
The Nike SB PS8 ‘Cool Grey/Metallic Silver’ doesn’t have an official release date, but it is expected to land in the remaining months of 2024. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
