The Nike Tuned ‘Red Belly Black’ Is Rumoured to Strike Again
Sneaker designer Sean McDowell’s serene Florida palm tree motif continues to cast an interminable shadow over the footwear industry in 2021, the legendary arriving in a mountain of colourways this year. Headlined by the molten-hot retro in August, we’ve now caught wind of another contemporary classic that is set to cause a storm, the Nike Tuned ‘Red Belly Black’ rumoured to slither back onto Foot Locker shelves over the coming weeks.
Composed in the familiar black and red ‘Bred’ composition immortalised by back in the 1980s, the Tuned looks more deadly than ever in its latest colourway, the wavy TPU ‘stripes’ slowly fading from black to red.
Inspired by one of the most notorious snakes found on Australia’s east coast, the Tuned ‘Red Belly Black’ looks as dangerous as its reptilian counterpart, the two-tone rendition originally arriving on shelves back in 2020.
With traditional murdered-out mesh on the uppers, a red Swoosh is blasted on both the medial and lateral sides, while the indelible TN badge is proudly stamped on the heels.
In the engine room down below, the TN is packed full of technological nous, the patented Tuned Air tech in the heel reinforcing support and cushioning for your feet. With seven bubbles, and signature ‘whale tail’ once again breaching the midfoot, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a sneaker with more attitude than the Nike Tuned.
