The Pro Leather Re-Enters the Converse Universe in the 'All Star' Pack
First introduced in 1976, the is a bona fide court classic. Heralded as one of the most culturally significant basketball sneakers ever, its transition from the hardwood to the streets is being honoured with a remastered rendition set to release as part of the ‘All Star’ park.
As Converse Basketball continues its re-emergence in the game, the new Pro Leather is set for its own resurgence. Modelled off the 1977 silhouette from the deep Converse archive, the 2019 model brings back the all-leather upper (reconstructed stitch-for-stitch) and OG styling. The throwback vibes are retained up top, but an updated sole unit comes through with contemporary style and fit, along with an elevated comfort for all-day wear. As for the colours, it’s hard to go past the ‘University Red’ with the Star Chevron branding made famous by Julius ‘Dr. J’ Erving.
Joining the pack is a matching – a modern baller modelled off the Pro Leather. Coming through with a matching all-white upper with Nike Quadfit mesh, the flagship performance model is elevated further with a React foam sole unit. Meanwhile, the classic Chuck 70 rounds out the ‘All Stars’ pack, adding a staple member of the Converse family to the mix.
The Converse ‘All Star’ pack will be exclusively available from Converse and Foot Locker on October 24.
