The PSG x Air Jordan 7 Receives a Golden Touch
European football giants are set to add to their collaborative canon, with official images emerging of their upcoming release. Unlike many of the PSG renditions we’ve seen in recent years, this colourway doesn’t seem to feature heavy doses of burgundy, instead wearing a combo of navy, red, black and white that sparks memories of the AJ7’s lighter OG colourways. The look is then elevated by a ‘Metallic Gold’ Jumpman that’s launching across the lateral side of the ankle.
Originally released in 1992, the Air Jordan 7 holds an interesting place in Jordan Brand history. First of all, it was the signature shoe that Jordan wore at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics where he led the star-studded Dream Team to a gold medal. Those games are often credited for fully launching Jordan’s name into the global consciousness, MJ making the most of performing on the international stage. Seemingly predicting that newfound worldwide fame, the AJ7 was the first Air Jordan silhouette to not feature any Nike branding on the exterior, as the range started to be marketed separately from Nike Basketball.
