The READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid is Dropping Soon
Streetwear brand READYMADE and have teamed up on the , and the obscure, avant-garde makeover has left fans salivating and eagerly waiting a release. Having already been locked in to drop this month, you’ll be happy to know that official images have floated over allowing us to take a closer look at the anticipated iteration.
READYMADE is the brainchild of Yuta Hosokawa, whose work and collaborations look more like art pieces than wearable items. Most recently, the brand has linked with the likes of Futura on a chair, and Billie Eilish and Rich The Kid on some epic march pieces. We first heard that READYMADE had joined forces with Nike midway though last year when leaks started surfacing. At first sight, we can imagine it would have been a shock to sneakerheads who don’t really dabble in the avant-garde look.
Two colourways have been scheduled to release very soon: a black with orange accents, and a white with black accents. The construction though, is the highlight. Hosokawa opts for a DIY look, with textured leather panels covering each side of the Blazer distorting the usual look. Exposed foam lays around the collar and tongue, with almost wool-like material on the toe box. READYMADE is known for upcycling, so you bet they took advantage of Nike’s new Grind Rubber, using it to construct the lumpy sole unit down below. A warped Swoosh and co-branded tongue labels help READYMADE make their mark.
Both colourways of the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid have been locked in to release on February 27 on SNKRS, Dover Street Market Ginza, and Tokyo’s NikeLab MA5.
