The Reebok DMX Trail Shadow Approaches the ‘Deep Forest’
are rolling out more outdoors-inspired colourways of their off-roading model, which has matured into a sleeper hit since its late-2019 debut. And Reebok’s collaborations with companies Mountain Research and EASTLOGUE last year have continued the DMX Trail Shadow’s authentic design roots. Meanwhile, the Approach edition directly references an archival Reebok hiker known as the Etna, and this new ‘Deep Forest’ colourway taps into the terrain the design is likely to be traversing.
First, a bit of history. The Etna was introduced back in 1996, and designed as a hiking shoe that could also perform double duties as a light climbing boot. Beyond its adventurous intentions, in-the-know sneakerheads also took the Etna downtown as a tough all-weather wear. The DMX Trail Shadow Approach bridges an aesthetic link over 25 years on with the distinctive rubberised mudguard. This new colourway features two shades of green, and matching darker green lining on the uppers, which are made from nylon and nubuck materials. Underfoot, all-black DMX Shear midsoles provide excellent cushioning, and are paired to flared lugged rubber outsoles.
The new Reebok DMX Trail Shadow ‘Deep Forest’ is hitting select retailers including Packer, Bodega and SSENSE right now. Pairs should also be found on Reebok’s webstore.
