The Reebok Electrolyte from 1997 Comes Running
Billed as an ultralight running shoe in its time, the Electrolyte has unexpectedly been reinstated into the Classics line. And this new retro looks like it’s been sealed away for over 20 years and just uncovered now.
A combination of mesh and moulded synthetic overlays forms the upper, featuring a distinct sparkly half-length mudguard. The unique segmented midsole reflects the runner’s weight-saving design, and also forms a low profile.
The Electrolyte is available now in a couple of colourways, including the OG white/black/blue. So far they’re at Asia-Pacific retailers, but should also hit Stateside shortly.
