There’s a ‘Hare’ Hiding in the Jordan 6 Rings
The is a commemorative hybrid sneaker combining elements from the six signature Air Jordan shoes that wore en route to winning his six NBA championships – hence the epic model name. Historically, the 6 Rings has always been a divisive model among Jordan collectors due to its hodgepodge design, and occasionally garish colourways. However, many will agree that a classic palette like the ‘Hare’ can make things much easier to digest.
Starting from the bottom up, the 6 Ring’s midsole pods – courtesy of the – are highlighted red against white like many other ‘Hare’ renditions. The midsection borrows heavily from the , which goes for the two-tone look here with white and light grey. Tonal strap hardware lifted from the and round out the rear, while the large neoprene tongue features elements of the , AJ8, and . Additional accents in red, orange and green round out the ‘Hare’ homage.
The 6 Rings ‘Hare’ now adds to a growing list of Jordan and Nike models that have featured the recognisable colourway. It was first used on the AJ7 during its OG run in 1992, then found itself on the , , , and even a pair of ! Some argue there’s an AJ8 in the mix too, but it’s perhaps more accurate to call those the ‘Bugs Bunny’, as it’s a slightly different colour scheme.
Nike China has first dibs on the Jordan 6 Rings ‘Hare’, but expect an international release to follow.
