These Vans Old Skools are Turtle-y Exclusive to Billy’s
For decades now, have made full use of the real estate available on their iconic rubber soles by printing graphics and repeating motifs directly onto the sidewalls. This practice was once available years ago as a bespoke option for custom orders, and this latest Japan-exclusive harks back to those halcyon days by displaying a unique turtle image.
Instead of the classic skateboard logo bearing Vans’ ‘Off The Wall’ motto, these depict a friendly cartoon turtle. This graphic is repeated across both the medial and lateral sides of the midsole, before stopping at the forefoot for the textured rubber toe wrap. Another unique touch to these heritage plimsolls is the light purple foxing strip as opposed to the usual black variety. Otherwise, the rest of the colourway follows standard Vans conventions with green canvas uppers and suede overlays, contrasted by crisp white Jazz stripes and shoe laces.
Vans fans will have to make an eventual pilgrimage to , or have a local contact to procure pairs, as these Old Skools are exclusive to the Japanese retailer. But perhaps there is an off chance pairs might make it abroad. And even then, size availability is truncated between sizes 4 to 10 US. Good luck!
