The New Balance 237 ‘Workwear’ is Worldwide
The has had a somewhat quiet trajectory since it launched at the beginning of the year, at least compared to its immensely popular cousin. However, the 237 has largely avoided playing second fiddle thanks to brands selecting it for underrated collaborations and low-key exclusives. Such as this upcoming colourway that is exclusive to Japanese select store , or more specifically, the B:MING by BEAMS sub-brand.
Unlike the 327, the 237 takes on a more restrained design, with fewer heavily sculpted panels and relatively regular-sized proportions. Of course, some elements are still enlarged to be more in line with contemporary aesthetics, such as the massive N logos. This BEAMS remake takes on somewhat outdoorsy palettes of tan suede overlays and teal mesh vamps, plus dark navy quarters and burgundy purple mesh lining. White laces and N logos add some crispy contrast, and this is matched nicely with the 237’s foam slab midsole. The peanut butter brown gum rubber sole is a smooth finish.
The New Balance 237 is available for pre-order now from the BEAMS website, which until recently meant availability was exclusive to Japan. But, BEAMS now ship internationally! Final delivery is scheduled for later this month.
Update: It turns out this 237 is called the ‘Workwear’ edition, and is now available globally from New Balance’s website.
