This New Balance 577 May Be Desaturated, But It’s Full of Flavour
latest colourway is apparently part of a collection curiously called the ‘Desaturated Pack’. It’s not exactly the first adjective that comes to mind when describing a sneaker, but the pics above explain exactly why they’ve been named as such. And despite the deliberately muted tones, this colourway still packs a full-flavoured punch.
The Made In England 577 has demonstrated a rather sharp shape over the course of its current comeback, showing off quite a nice tapered toe rake. It’s a detail the most ardent NB fans look for, and they’ll be pleased to see this proportional accuracy is matched up appropriately with the same uncompromising quality materials. Which are, of course, supple suede and airy herringbone mesh that have been arranged in a pleasant earthy brown and grey palette with some juicy fruit pops of orange and plum purple. Staying on the material front, it’s something that’s been hammered in writing time and time again, but that microfibre lining that English NB models use really needs to be appreciated by more sneakerheads. Thankfully, most will be acquainted with that sturdy ENCAP sole that is still super comfy decades after its debut.
The New Balance 577 ‘Desaturated Pack’ releases on July 24 from retailers including 43einhalb.
