This New Balance 670 Flips a Familiar Colourway
are gradually ramping up the number of the colourways in the market, following some strong inline editions. Up next is a palette that at a glance does indeed recall a signature combination in the NB lexicon.
The grey and blue-tinged mixture shown here is reminiscent of the , but with its panelling reversed. This is evident in the bold contrast N logos that are plunged in blue and bordered by white – a direct inversion of the JP’s branding. In more subtle nods to the JP, the smooth and finely brushed nubuck uppers are rendered in similar grey shades, but there are a couple of different tones on display to add depth. The result is tonal toe bumpers, heel counters and tongue tips; paired with darker grey mesh toe box inserts, mid panels, and MCD heel clips. As it’s been mentioned a number of times throughout SF’s pages, NB’s Made In England range uses an extremely supple microfibre for the lining, which is reprised here behind the tongues and ankle collars. It really is some of the softest material used on sneakers right now.
This New Balance 670 will release on August 14 via selected boutique retailers including asphaltgold, who have shot the images above.
