This Nike Air Max 1 N7 Design is Almost Here
ongoing commitment to getting young people moving in Native American and Indigenous communities across North America so they can lead healthier and happier lives is set to continue with the latest installment in their N7 collection. According to Team Swoosh, this ‘N7’ design ‘honours the vibrant patterns of certain Native artwork while paying tribute to the gifts given at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s traditional naming ceremonies’.
Specifically referencing the quilts and medallions gifted to recipients during those naming ceremonies, Nike say the ‘haptic graphic creates a three-dimensional effect that adds depth and texture’ to the upper, while the rest of the silhouette adopts a more tonal approach.
Since 2009, Nike’s N7 Fund has been supporting organisations that deliver programs and services to increase physical activity and support education and career development for youth in Native American and Indigenous communities across North America. At last count, the N7 Fund had awarded more than $8 million in grants to more than 270 communities and organisations.
