This Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Ups the Ante on Reflectivity
This impending rendition of the really ups the ante on reflectivity, making sure it shines just as bright when the sun goes down. And while the almost all-white scheme does actually make its own statement during the day time, that thick reflective strip is a little bolder than what you’ll usually spot on an Air Max model.
Adopting a slightly more streamlined approach to the classic Air Max 95, the Ultra offshoot uses breathable mesh uppers for when things get a little heated below the ankles. But from a distance, it still rocks that undeniable AM95 aesthetic.
An impressive creation from well-known Nike designer Sergio Lozano, the concept for the Air Max 95 was famously inspired by a rainy Beaverton day. Staring out his office window for some thinking time, Lozano started daydreaming about the falling rain slowly eroding the local landscape to unearth the strata below the surface. This geological concept of previously hidden layers expanded in Lozano’s mind when he later considered the anatomy of a foot which, of course, also features a layered build – this time the muscle fibres and flesh under the skin.
Pairs of this reflective Air Max 95 Ultra are expected to hit Nike and selected Swoosh stockists very soon.
