This Nike SB Dunk Low is Inspired by Viking Boats!
The burgeoning custom sneaker scene continues to produce some of the most inspired designs in the game, as well as sparking plenty of conversation online. In October 2020, Nuremberg’s renowned sneaker store TX Sports started their own #createyourowndunk contest, challenging the community to reinvent a sneaker owning the zeitgeist right now: the Nike SB Dunk Low.
Inspired by ancient viking boats, pitched the incredible concept among hundreds of other contestants, and won the competition. The idea was brought to life by tornschuhjette, who jumped on board to execute this killer SB Dunk Low. What resulted was one of the most lofty community Dunks in recent times, the collaboration rivalling some of the most high-profile Dunk partnerships to date – move over, Travis Scott!
The mudguard and heels come in wood-printed canvas, while the side panels are adorned with genuine steel mesh. Suede parts have been smudged to resemble rust and dirt, while the Swooshes are hand-engraved. The sneakers arrive in a hand-dremeled, stained and polished box, and are decorated with Nordic knot-designs.
But the best part? 24K gold-plated viking dragons emblazon this SB Dunk!
