Timberland Introduce the Fully Circular Timberloop Trekker City Hiker
Earth Day is here, and are aiming to do their part for the planet with a new silhouette dubbed the Timberloop Trekker City Hiker. The first-ever piece of Timberland footwear that's fully circular, the Trekker is designed to be worn down, resoled at Timberland's new Timberloop take-back facility and used again, reducing waste and increasing sustainablilty.
A mid-cut boot that's available in both a classic wheat colourway and a stark black – plus a lower-cut women's iteration with an exposed mesh bootie – the Trekker's most special detail is its outsole. This outsole features a single seam that can be easily cut off at the Timberloop facility, and each piece recycled. Then, judging on the wear, it can either be repaired and returned or replaced entirely. Essentially, as long as the upper holds up there's no need to keep buying new boots!
Besides its sustainable top half, the Trekker also boasts details like a ReBOTL fabric lining made of at least 50 per cent recycled plastic, 100 per cent recycled laces and a Better Leather upper, with leather from a tannery that's certified by the Leather Working Group for its mindful use of water and energy.
If you're looking to get in on the loop, you can snag a pair of the Timberland Timberloop Trekker City Hiker via the Timberland webstore now. It's priced at $170.
