Two sacai x Nike Blazer Lows Release This Week
The collaborative relationship between Japanese label and has been a particularly fruitful one. Despite rising to peak prominence in 2019 with the release of the , the cooperative efforts actually date back to , a time when sacai sneakers were a relative blip in the sneakersphere. Now, in 2021, the duo are pushing on, with these two releasing this week.
The original sacai Blazer Mid was a fantastic collision of the Blazer and Dunk, with elements from both models literally clamouring over one another. Thanks to the higher ankle cut, there was more room to play with sacai’s hybrid concept. The Low, on the other hand, still maintains distinct features like the overwrapped midsole tape, double tongues and stacked Swooshes, with the sheer size of these components on the low cut silhouette slightly condensing the aesthetic.
Tonal editions aside, previous sacai colabs have also opted for bright clashing colours, but these Blazer Lows take a more conventional route with familiar shades in ‘Classic Green’ and ‘Magma Orange’ set atop primarily grey and white leather uppers. These plain palettes tone down the exposed foam ankle collars and tongue edges – less adventurous sneakerheads should consider these sacais. They could provide a gateway to something bolder.
The sacai x Nike Blazer Lows release on June 10 via Nike and select retailers.
