adidas and Undefeated Revive Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Signature Sneaker
Originally introduced in 1978, the Jabbar OG is one for true old school hoopers. The first basketball shoe ever to feature an athlete’s face, this signature model was designed specifically for legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Team Trefoil first reintroduced the Jabbar OG in October, and now they’re expanding the line-up with three brand new colourways. Teaming up with Southern-Californian for the collection, all three editions will feature a luxurious mix of premium smooth leather on the tongues and uppers alongside suede toe caps. Gold foil logos add to the premium overhaul, while soft leather collars and lining ensure a comfortable ride. Over on the logos, you’ll see Kareem’s signature alongside an image of him performing his patented skyhook.
The first basketball player in history to ink a deal with adidas in 1971, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s CV reads like fiction. Leading the Bucks to their first championship in 1971, Kareem then joined the Los Angeles in 1975 where he formed a central core to the ‘Showtime’ Lakers. Across his 20-year career, Kareem secured five NBA championships, claimed six NBA MVP trophies and held the title of the league’s all-time scorer with 38,387 points – a record that was broken by LeBron James in 2023.
Look for the Jabbar OG to land exclusively at Undefeated on November 6. A global release will follow on November 15.
