UNDEFEATED and Vault by Vans Unearth the U-Man On New Old Skool Colab
Almost 15 years have passed since and first teamed up in 2007, so the two are celebrating by bringing UNDEFEATED's classic U-Man logo back on three colourways. Created through , each of these styles repurposes UNDEFEATED's Geoff McFetridge-designed 'mascot' for a new era – OG UNDEFEATED heads may recall that the U-Man was front and centre on the 2007 colab as well!
Arriving in Bistro Green', 'Blue Lolite' and 'Buckthorn Brown' colourways, each pair combines sturdy canvas with supple suede and boasts a repeating U-Man print that encircles its quarter panels and heels. Further detail is provided by UNDEFEATED's signature Five Strike hit on the tongue tag, and each foot boasts a special lace deubre, a detail we're definitely not used to seeing on the Old Skool.
'The U-Man has a bit of the irony and mystery I like to have in logos I make', said McFetridge. 'Since UNDEFEATED is a shoe store, I like that he has bare feet. He also has no arms or face. The ultimate sneaker shop customer! He is this big collegiate U but he is also this mute, armless, shoeless guy. There is some dichotomy in that, maybe not a narrative, but the start to a story'.
If you're looking to get down with the U-Man, you'll be able to do so come December 4, when the UNDEFEATED x Vault By Vans pack releases via the UNDEFEATED webstore and all UNDEFEATED global chapter doors.
