Official Release Info: Union x Jordan Brand 'Future is Now' Collection

Jordan Brand has big plans for the Air Jordan 2 in 2022, a key piece of which are Union's 'Grey Fog' and 'Rattan' takes. Though they were originally set to release Holiday 2021 – as indicated by the 'HO21' tag on the collar – they were delayed by the supply chain issues that have roiled the world of sneakers. However, they're finally set for their highly-anticipated drop, and they'll also be accompanied by a special Crater slide plus an extensive set of apparel. All these pieces make up what Union and the Jumpman are calling the 'Future Is Now' collection.

'When putting this collection together, the Jordan team asked us to think about what our future utopia might look like,' says a statement on the Union website. 'The prevailing feeling was that if we keep on waiting for things to get better ... we are just going to keep on waiting. "The future is now," as they say.' The statement goes on to explain the intentionally aged look on the footwear and apparel: 'For the Future Is Now capsule, we wanted to juxtapose what some futuristic gear might look like after it had been worn and patined. So often you see people’s vision of the future and [it’s] all crisp and sterile. We thought it might be fun to wear it in a little bit and make it organic.'

As seen in the photos above, this inspiration is translated by slightly-faded suede, stripped-back materials and unique branding on the footwear, while apparel offers fades of its own and even frayed details on hems and cuffs. Besides the Air Jordan 2s and slides, there are also jackets, sweatshirts, crewnecks, T-shirts, pants, shorts, hats and even socks to be had! The Union x Jordan Brand 'Future Is Now' collection is set for a Nike SNKRS drop on April 15 and will retail for $225, but Los Angles-based individuals can pick up a raffle ticket from 9-3 PM on April 9 and 10 at Union's flagship, located at 110 S. La Brea Ave, LA, CA, 90036. If you want to get a raffle ticket, you'll need to have a valid California ID so the Union team can verify that you live in the LA county district. You then have until 11:59 PM PST to enter the raffle, and winners will be contacted via email. Good luck!
