Vans x Timberland Swap Shoes in First-Ever Collaboration
and are collaborating for the first time ever in a joint effort that sees famous silhouettes and colourways from both brands coalescing on a range of hybrid designs. The three-pair pack combines elements from the , Euro Hiker and 6-Inch Boot.
The Vans Half Cab meets the Timberland Euro Hiker to create the aptly named Half Cab Hiker. It uses the former’s upper, reworked in suede, combined with the lugged rubber sole and mudguard of the latter. Metal speed lace hooks are also borrowed from the outdoors model and placed onto the skater. Its colourways draw from Timberland’s iconic and ‘Wheat’, but the ultimate cross-pollination is the Timberland tree logo placed next to the Half Cab wordmark.
Similarly, the blacked-out 6-Inch Boot takes on dual branding. Its heel bumper depicts the red Vans ‘license plate’ in addition to the more subtle tonal black checkerboard print on the vamp. The colourway (or perhaps lack thereof) is more akin to a core Vans offering, but gummy lug soles and copious stitching preserve the Timberland DNA.
The Vans x Timberland collaboration will release on December 20 from the brands’ respective outposts.
