Vault by Vans Set Sail with Nautical-Striped 'Maritime' Pack

Vault by Vans are taking to the high seas with their latest capsule: nautical-themed takes on the Style 45 (AKA the Era) and the Style 48 (AKA the Slip-On) that make up the 'Maritime' pack. Each pair is inspired by traditional sailor garb and features special embellishments – plus a unique construction – to drive its inspiration home.

Both styles feature thin, striped detailing, a classic seafaring pattern that's presented in both 'Gibraltar Sea/Kiwi' and 'Black/Goji Berry' colourways. In a clever twist, the colour of the stripes are replicated on both the midfoot tag and heel badge for a nod to ship flags. Though we're used to seeing a signature waffle sole on most Vans shoes, the Style 45 and Style 48 instead go full life aquatic with a Sperry-style deck shoe bottom made of flat blue rubber that's intended to offer exemplary grip in wet conditions. Midsoles are free of coloured foxing, and leather heel pads round off both pairs.

The Vault by Vans 'Maritime' pack will release in Japan on February 26, exclusively at BILLY's Tokyo. It may come ashore globally in the following weeks. Each pair is priced at a tax-included ￥14,300, which translates to roughly $124 in American dollars.
