The VERDY x Nike SB Collection is Locked, Loaded and Ready to Land
Japanese creative VERDY has cemented himself as one of the most in-demand artists within the streetwear scene, having worked with everyone from Hiroshi Fujiwara and UNDERCOVER, to taking on an artistic director role with global superstars BLACKPINK. Back in 2019, VERDY linked up with under the guise of his Girls Don’t Cry label, and now he’s preparing to drop a long-awaited follow-up in the form of another . This time, the artist reintroduces a character that we’ve come to recognise as a recurring part of his work – his alter-ego VISTY – who was reimagined in 3D form at the artist’s ‘RISE ABOVE’ exhibition at the KaiKai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo in 2001.
The show saw VISTY take the form of a fluffy plushie, which now informs the panelling on the creator’s upcoming SB Dunk. Drenched in pastel hues, the shoe features a fluffy green base and textured blue overlays, as well as pink Swooshes and fluffy pink collars. The green base extends up the tongue, while tongue tabs take on a pink shade for a cohesive look. A two-tone yellow and green sole unit sits underfoot while matching yellow laces tie the pair up perfectly.
As it stands we’re still yet to hear of a confirmed release date for the VERDY x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘VISTY’, although the Easter-inspired tones have us hoping it drops sooner rather than later. In the meantime, stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for all the drop info as it comes in.
