Virgil Abloh's Off-White x Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 Drops This Weekend
has come through with a cure for your Off-White-line fever, literally putting his stamp on the football boot.
Designed for speed and agility, the boot comes in a bright orange. Various Virgil touches are scattered throughout, including an appropriate ‘FAST AF’ quote on the soleplate. Off-White for branding finds its way to the boot’s medial side.
‘For this Mercurial, I was interested in bridging the gap between foot and eye coordination,’ says Abloh, who played centre-back in high school. ‘All the dots on the boot represent an optimal place to strike the ball.’
The concept is twofold: first, to help the wearer recognise where he or she should strike the ball; second, to present a powerful message to the opposition.
