Wales Bonner's Latest adidas Colab Launches This Week

Performance-inspired collaborations may seem all the rage right now, but it’s a fair reminder that so much of the sneakerverse is rooted in sport. In the spirit of celebrating sporting achievements and technological advancements of the past, present and future, and have reconnected on a legendary running silhouette: the adidas Adizero Adios .

A gaudy yellow crown jewel of the Three Stripes’ Adios runner legacy, the Neftenga went on to power runners like the – the record-breaking runner seen on marathon start lines today. But back in the noughties, the shoe was a track star itself. Introduced in 2008, the silhouette powered Ethiopian runner Haile Gebrselassie to a Boston Marathon win, smashing his own world record in the process.

The model was a prototype and never saw a public release, but Wales Bonner’s version is as close as we currently have to a remake. Arriving in a similar energetic yellow colourway and sporting the same Adiprene foam midsole down below, the revamped WB version comes with the addition of suede overlays and subtle co-branded tongue tabs.
