Whiz Limited and mita sneakers Reunite on the New Balance 57/40
Frequent collaborators and are back for an all-Japanese rendition of the newfangled 57/40. The three parties have frequently worked together over the years, a hardly surprising fact given Whiz and mita have been in the retail game since the year 2000, and New Balance is big in Japan. The outcome of this three-way colab is a pretty distinct colourway that’s packed with memorable marks from each party.
The 57/40’s multilayered upper allows for plenty of colour options, and the collaborators have taken full advantage of this by using a bold selection of black, grey and green, plus some additional blue and orange accents for good measure. With so many panels on offer, there’s also a good mix of materials, including classic NB mesh, fine nubuck bumpers, suede counters, and a massive reflective N logo.
Things stay fairly busy inside too. Add one to the material tally, thanks to the terry cloth lining. And the insoles bear the signature wire fence motif that’s decorated pretty much every single mita sneakers colab, but Whiz Limited also slide in their logo. The colab is literally tied together with two colour choices for the shoelaces: orange and blue.
The Whiz Limited x mita sneakers x New Balance 57/40 releases on March 20 via New Balance Japan.
