Originally launching in 2004, the AM90 ‘Bacon’ was produced with the now-closed NYC sneaker boutique Dave’s Quality Meat. And the story behind the design’s inspiration now belongs to sneaker folklore. Rushing to nail his deadline, Dave Ortiz (owner of Dave’s Quality Meat), found himself starving. He walked to his local bodega to order a NYC staple: bacon, egg and cheese. ‘Everybody loves bacon’ he figured, so everybody will love the Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’.

Turns out he was right. The OG Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’ still circulates the resale market these days for four figures.
