Xbox and adidas Power Up an Xbox 360-Inspired Forum Mid
2021 marks the 20th anniversary of Microsoft's franchise (feel old yet?) so Xbox have been celebrating by teaming up with adidas on a special footwear collection. The two kicked off their anniversary games with an Xbox-themed colab in October, and now they're starting a new session with an Xbox 360-inspired take on the .
Stuffed full of 2000s detailing and hidden easter eggs, these sneakers are designed to take you back to a different era of the gaming world. It starts with a white, silver and green colour scheme inspired by the 360's original build, then reps the throwback console further with a system graphic on the lateral collar and silver strip on the strap that nods to the 360's disc tray.
On the lateral quarter, there's a wide swath of perforations made to acknowledge the console's air vents, while heels nod to the 360's removable hard drive and icy green outsoles show off a power button-inspired hit of detail. A finishing touch is supplied by four sets of laces, coloured to match the 360 controller's face buttons. Unsurprisingly, there's no nod to the 'red ring of death' to be seen anywhere here – these shoes are supposed to bring back good memories, after all!
