Xlarge X mita Sneakers X PUMA Clyde
has joined a couple of streetwear giants for a three-way colab on Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier’s signature model.
Working with and , PUMA have recreated the worn by Ad-Rock on the Beastie Boys’ Check Your Head album cover. The colourway on this one is simple and concise – there’s a sweeping Form Stripe in green, a velour-looking suede canvases the shoe in dark cream, and the midsole comes in bone white.
For those wondering how such a trifecta comes about, the links between XLarge and PUMA have always been fairly strong. LA founded and especially renowned in Hong Kong and Japan, XLarge was originally part-owned by Mike D from the Beastie boys, and has worked with PUMA on sneakers before. Of course, mita sneakers have worked with PUMA a few times as well – but are also hugely popular in the same enclaves as XLarge – meaning that this colab will be to some streetwear aficionados what Beastie Boys linking with Run DMC was to rap fans back in the day.
