Y-3's Latest Kaiwa Model Gets a Release Date
One of the freshest silhouettes this year has finally received a release date. Initially unveiled at the Fall/Winter 2018 runway, the trainer brings back retro x vibes.
Dubbed ‘conversation’ in Japanese, the model represents constant dialogue between the two designers around craftsmanship, technology, and street culture. Taking it back to their 90s principle of comfort through geometry, the silhouette boasts big bubbles of white foam for a 3D effect, while black leather and nylon panels provide a contrasting sleek sock-like upper. Y-3 branding on the elongated tongue and a Yohji Yamamoto wordmark along the EVA midsole finish off the futuristic aesthetic.
