Ye Is Giving $180 Refunds for the Yeezy Pods

Update February 13, 2024: The Yeezy Pod recently dropped for $20. Now, Ye has announced that customers who purchased the model for its original $200 price tag will receive a $180 refund. Those who wish to claim this are required to email [email protected].
and Ty Dolla $ign released their first collaborative project over the weekend, with the star-studded Vultures 1 project marking 20 years since Ye’s debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004). To celebrate the launch, Ye radically dropped the price of the Pod to $20 – the futuristic ‘sock shoes’ accompanying various apparel and vinyl on the official Yeezy .
The first footwear model to launch post the much-publicised the Yeezy Pods also mark the first project by new Head of Design, Gosha Rubchinskiy. Previously available for $200, the Italian-made, slip-on design is manufactured in a black knit composition that extends all the way to the mid-calf. Down below, a thick rubber sole provides protection and cushioning. Described as the ‘foldable future’, the Pods are only available in three sizes – small, medium and large.
Of course, Ye has been spotted several times over the years wearing a wide variety of sleek, minimalist footwear styles (and even socks sans shoes entirely). In May, his Mascotte Holdings Inc. company applied for a US patent around the ‘sock shoes’, noting that the design would be used on ‘socks’ and ‘socks’ with ‘leather soles’.
