Air Max 90
The Air Max 90 was the third instalment in Nike’s Air Max franchise. Tinker Hatfield gave the Air Max 90 a fast look, with forward tapering panels of synthetic microsuede perfecting the athletic vision he had begun with the Air Max 1 in 1987. The Air Max 90 was originally released in colours known as ‘Laser Blue’ and ‘Radiant Red’. Contrary to popular wisdom, the latter colour was never officially referred to as ‘Infrared’ until the 2003 reissue. More than three decades since the Air Max 90’s inception – countless retros, collaborations and hybrids have escalated demand for this classic Nike runner. For many, the Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ is the quintessential Air Max of them all.
