KangaROOS
KangaROOS is a sporting brand founded in 1979 by American architect and jogging addict Bob Gamm. Originally known for having small zippered pockets on their sneakers that mimicked kangaroo pouches, the brand’s best moment arrived in 1992 when the US running team competed in KangaROOS at the Barcelona Olympics. Rick ‘The Dog-faced Gremlin’ also wore bright red ROOS during the World Championship Wrestling era. Today, ROOS is best known in Germany where their locally-made shoes with stores like Overkill are highly prized.
