A favourite from the 90s is back! The 'Powder Blue' colourway was originally released in 1994 and hasn't appeared back on shelves since its last retro treatment in 2010. But, 2024 marks its 30th anniversary, so are resurrecting the colourway to celebrate. It sports the well-known light-blue of beloved University of North Carolina, aka UNC, which is the nickname for various Jordan model colour schemes.
Fans of the OG will be be pleased with the uniform of this latest iteration. Adorned in a 'Summit White', 'Black', and 'Dark Powder Blue' colour palette, the shoe is accented by a white leather upper contrasted against black highlights that are notable on tongue and heel tab. The hero colour is predominately emphasised on the midsole, with accompanying dashes around the tongue, Air Jordan insignia, heel branding, and the Jumpman logo on the white rubber sole. The most drastic difference between this and the last retro is the absence of the heel’s embroidered #23. Other than that, the 2024 version matches the look and style of the legacy release.
The Air Jordan 9 ‘Powder Blue’ is due for release on March 23 in mens, grade school, preschool, and toddler sizes. Retail price is $210.
