Devin Booker Just Sported a ‘Jewel Swoosh NYC’ Book 1 PE
Eyes have certainly been on Devin Booker this NBA season, but not necessarily for the reasons you may think. During a tricky season for the Suns, Book has had a strong season, but what’s even stronger is the run of PE’s he’s been wearing. Over the past few months, we’ve seen the Nike Book 1 pay homage to a number of iconic Swoosh silhouettes and colourways, and Booker has just rounded things off with the Book 1 ‘Jewel Swoosh NYC’ as the Suns took to the court at Madison Square Garden.
An adaptation of the OG ‘82 hooper, the original Jewel-Swooshed Air Force 1 saw the Uptown reworked with an itty-bitty, 3D Swoosh designed to have a jewel-like appearance. While this later made its way onto other models, the AF-1 was a common host for the theme, producing some of the most desirable gems in Beaverton’s bejewelled archives. Booker’s pair references the 1997 AF-1 ‘Jewel Swoosh NYC’ and comes complete with the same Nike NYC logo, here moved to the Book 1’s forefoot. The striking navy, orange and white tricolour palette remains unchanged and the textured Swoosh glints from the sidewalls.
As with all Booker’s PE’s, there’s no word that the ‘Jewel Swoosh NYC’ Book 1 will make it onto shelves, but in-line colourways are available to cop at Nike.
In other news, Devin Booker has also linked up with Nike and Chevrolet on a lifestyle-geared colab.
