Nike and the Brazilian Football Confederation have announced a mega 12-year extension to their partnership. This will see Beaverton continue to outfit CBF’s men’s and women’s national teams, academy squads, Olympic federation, beach football and futsal teams.
‘CBF is thrilled to renew its partnership with Nike, a brand that shares our values and passion for football,’ Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of CBF said in a press release. ‘This is one of the most enduring and successful partnerships in football, and we look forward to continuing to inspire future generations and promote a more inclusive and equitable sport for all Brazilian footballers, upholding the legacy of the beautiful game.’
This news comes after PUMA ended Team Swoosh’s 27-year deal with Portugal’s national team, which was a mega move for the Big Cat. That was also after Nike ripped the German national team from the clutches of adidas, which saw an uproar throughout the country.
Nike have longstanding ties with Brazil and the CBF, originally beginning in 1996 when Team Swoosh began working with the Confederation to advance football across Latin America. The extension of this partnership between the two will continue to see a larger push for women’s football while promoting diversity and inclusion across all categories.
‘The next few years are crucial for women’s football in Brazil, and having Nike by our side is a huge boost,’ said Ary Borges, a member of the Brazilian women’s national team. ‘I’m proud to be part of a team that is committed to drive real change and create more opportunities for girls to play, compete and succeed in the sport.’
Currently CBF’s deal with Nike will end in 2026, but a new contract will come into effect in January 2027. This means Team Swoosh will create the Brazil team kits for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, which the country will be hosting for the first time.
‘Nike has been an integral part of my journey as a footballer, providing me with the best possible equipment to thrive on the pitch,' said Brazil and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior. ‘I’m so excited to see the positive impact this partnership will have on young Brazilian footballers and the sport as a whole.’
