There’s a collective lull around the globe this week, as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has come to an end. The past month has provided stacks of action, from Noah Lyles getting gold in the 100 metre sprint wearing Y-3 spikes to Yuto Horigome snagging a win while rocking his own Nike SB Dunk Low colab. Eyes were on plenty of big name athletes across Paris 2024, but Sha’Carri Richardson was one that caught the attention of the world. A superstar sprinter from Team USA, Richardson came a close second in the women’s 100 metre, but managed to secure gold in the 4 x 100m relay. She scored her first gold medal on the global stage rocking a custom pair of track spikes.

Sha’Carri is one of the jewels in Nike Running’s crown and has taken to the track in Paris rocking a special pair of Nike Mayfly 2 Spikes. This fresh new sprinting spike comes as part of Team Swoosh’s gargantuan ‘Electric Pack’, which hosted 55 ‘Safari’-clad peak performance models. Most of these were dressed in orange, but Sha’Cari’s pair was dressed in a full electric green. Alongside the exclusive colourway, the left shoe hosts scripted branding reading ‘I’m Not Back’, with the right shoe reading ‘I’m Better’.

Nike’s Maxfly 2 is the latest sprinting innovation from Team Swoosh and is much lighter than previous versions and designed for 100 metre and 400 metre sprints alongside hurdles. The upper comes correct in a secure Flyweave top-half, carbon fibre FlyPlate and the famous Air Zoom forefoot unit.
