The Battle for LA Heats Up: Trojans Bring Kobe Energy Against UCLA
The Kobe cleats keep rolling in! The University of Southern California (USC) Trojans football team are set to debut an exclusive Nike Kobe 6 ‘Trojans’ Player Edition (PE) in their upcoming clash against crosstown rivals, the UCLA Bruins.
Featuring a deadly black snakeskin base with red and gold Swoosh accents, the cleats draw inspiration from the signature colours of the Trojans, as well as the iconic ‘Grinch’ sneakers Kobe Bryant wore on Christmas Day back in 2010. Adding to the details, Kobe Bryant’s logo appears in gold on the tongues, while his signature is prominently displayed on the heel.
USC is of course no stranger to epic PEs from Nike. They’ve been a major sponsor of University of Southern California (USC) athletics program since the mid-90s, and have equipped the programs with all kinds of gear, including uniforms, footwear and equipment for various sports teams – basketball, football and track and field.
This is the 74th meeting between USC and UCLA, known as the ‘Battle for LA’. As of now, the USC Trojans hold a 5-5 overall record, with a 3-5 record in the Big Ten Conference. The UCLA Bruins have a 4-6 overall record, also standing at 3-5 in the Big Ten.
As these are a player exclusive release, they won't be available for purchase.
