More Colourways Inbound: the 'Lucid Pink' AE2 Surfaces

The AE2 is one of the most anticipated models in recent memory. The uber-popular adidas AE1 was an incredibly impactful silhouette. Its ad campaign perfectly played on Anthony Edwards’ personality. The design language was unlike anything the market had seen before, and heck, they even had Wale rocking them with jeans. Such a shoe demands an encore. The AE2 has been slowly stepping out from behind the curtain. Now, another colourway is revealed: the ‘Lucid Pink’ pair has just surfaced.

Like Ant’s Timberwolves, who are awaiting their matchup in the Western Conference Finals, the sneaker community is awaiting Edward’s grand reveal of his new signature sneaker. Various colourways have floated around the internet, but this latest colourway establishes a theme within his signature line. The ‘Lucid Pink’ AE2 dons a colour palette similar to the and ‘Georgia Clay’, which honoured Ant’s family roots. The AE2 returns to a more typical design of mesh uppers that make up today’s basketball models, yet it maintains the same flair the previous model embodied with a rubber cage encapsulating the sneaker.

Aside from leaked images, not much is known regarding adidas’ plans for the AE2. However, the ‘Lucid Pink’ pair is expected to be released January 17, 2026. Still a ways off, the Three Stripes are giving the AE1 plenty of time to shine, but the emergence of a release date for the 2s points to movement on that front.
